Video duration: 147 seconds Hey, Here is another cool, simple riff and I show you how to use it the 12 bar blues. I also quickly demonstrate the riff in other keys. The riff consists of only really the first 4 notes of the blues scale of any key so its a fairly simple riff, but once you get the hang of it you can really do quite a lot. @TheSalesmenBand I beg to differ. I have perfect pitch. Now your point about 440 or 435Hz. For me, I can tell you when a single not is out of tune, and by how much (not in Hz, just aurally lol). So to me, I hear a difference when its 440 or 435. Nether is wrong if it is Intended to sound as it does. some pianos are tuned different anyway ie. a Db sounds like C. However, Skybart Is talking shit. I can both hear the notes at "Natural" pitch and imagine what? it would sound like with no sound.
By: kdesmond101. on 04 May 11, 23:12:29
@skybart Oh Im sooooo sorry that this video is useless because you have perfect pitch, now you know how hard it is? for the motherfucking rest of us
By: drone713. on 25 Apr 11, 08:42:58
@skybart What the fuck? You have perfect pitch but you can't transpose? If you had perfect pitch, why would you even be searching youtube videos to "learn something?" You have? no idea what perfect pitch even means. Fucking idiot.
By: colourfulwithaU. on 11 Apr 11, 01:07:09
@TheSalesmenBand You are wrong - perfect pitch does exist. I know a guy who? has it, and I have tested him on it, comparing Baroque tunings and modern tunings and asking what note this is and whatnot, and beyond a shadow of a doubt, he has it. *I* have relative pitch. *Most* musicians have relative pitch. Perfect pitch is *rare* but it exists.

Its a decent riff, although? your timing and finger precision is a bit off. Still very moody and nice :)
By: abidventures. on 06 Apr 11, 10:53:59
@italysfinest7731 this guy is amazing im tyring to gather or grow old as i go along? and die with good jazz as well
By: memejawd. on 04 Apr 11, 03:58:35
@skybart i have perfect pitch too? but dude its only a whole step flat so it should be pretty easy to transpose do u play piano?
By: 4thKyuubi. on 31 Mar 11, 07:25:07
Hello, Im trying to learn jazz chords, and i am an absolute beginner in jazz music. I just began recently, what kind of excercises would you recommend to get used to some jazz chords? These videos are awesome! Ive tried to implement some jazz chords into a song the other day, Cm(major 7) etc. but I keep going back to just basic chords naturally. I want to play more chords with a different tune, not just the same ones over and over? again.
By: MrGoNzObeAtZ. on 24 Mar 11, 23:26:25
Nice? video. thanks.
By: JTylerBentley. on 15 Mar 11, 03:31:23
@skybart Keep in mind I only have relative pitch, but I would imagine that even though you have perfect pitch, you could still derive some use for this video. It could not possibly be that hard to transpose what you are hearing to match what you are seeing.? If you can't do that, just stop looking at the stinking video and listen. Jeez.
By: Mieta79. on 14 Feb 11, 03:06:49
I found your great videos yesterday. I decided to study them all :D but some of them have wrong pitch and I can't understand English? at all, so all I can do is believe in my ears X3
By: cyrusjerome. on 09 Feb 11, 20:47:38
@skybart maybe if you had a? ear you could just figure it out. really not that hard as its only like one pitch up from the regular
By: EMDIEMEI. on 28 Jan 11, 03:10:05
nice!?
By: avq5. on 15 Jan 11, 16:58:17
"PERFECT pitch" is a misnomer. It's really "LIMITED? pitch" and when it comes to jazz it can actually be a hinderance.
By: avq5. on 15 Jan 11, 16:53:16
Nice instrument,? I always liked the YDP series .. thinking about getting the 160. What are your likes/dislikes?

By: bradleyjdiaz. on 20 Nov 10, 11:57:50
It's not what you play...but how you play? it.
By: kraker109. on 22 Oct 10, 01:47:39
Been playing guitar for a year and a half I'm pretty decent at blues and jazz now just got a piano? hopefully I'll be able to give this video a shot in a few weeks
By: LanceChui. on 02 Oct 10, 03:36:41
@TheSalesmenBand Actually, it's possible to identify even the frequency for those who have perfect pitch. And perfect (or absolute pitch) pitch means that one is able to? tell without any reference at all! But I agree that the other comment made by skybart was extremely uncalled for!
By: mathieuemi666. on 01 Oct 10, 23:23:24
You should try to record the piano song directly.? ("Line" input in your sound card)
