@funkrock94 hey thanks ! it's? almost a diminished chord, but there is a major 3rd between the 2 last notes. the chord is written min7b5
By: funkrock94. on 20 Jul 10, 12:05:43
the tonic chord of a? locrian mode is a diminished chord? great improvisation ;)
By: StormLogic. on 22 May 10, 14:42:00
@MemoryofLightwaves rbDrum01 has listed the related Major scale for each improvisation - C# Dorian uses the same notes as B Major, for? example (C# D# E F# G# A# B).
By: MusicGuru12. on 28 Mar 10, 09:41:43
This is incredible. Your knowledge of how to use these scales is amazing! And the speed in? which you play the scales. I think I've got a lot of practising to do! Thanks for the inspiration :D
By: MrKompaMan. on 27 Mar 10, 00:22:57
@rbDrum01 I got so much to learn...alas!? LOL

By: rbDrum01. on 18 Mar 10, 07:08:43
hello christian, I'm glad you enjoyed the video .. About your question, all these? modes can be(and must be ! if you're working on them) transposed in the 12 existing keys. good luck :)
By: christiandhoy. on 18 Mar 10, 04:48:57
Fantanstic rbDrum01! I'd been looking for a video that would show these modes in context (and played by someone who can actually play). Appreciate it! Question: can each one of these be transposed (following the same intervals) and played in different keys, or is each one of these "exclusive" to certain keys? (I need a? bit of help with the theory). Thanks for posting this!
By: rbDrum01. on 20 Feb 10, 09:00:22
No mistake? for sure ! I wrote it well .. check again ;)
By: MemoryofLightwaves. on 20 Feb 10, 00:22:31
2 - Dorian (D? scale)? 3 - Phyrgian (E scale)? I think you got 2-7 backwards in your description.
By: musicfude83. on 01 Feb 10, 21:26:32
ahh.. why does this remind me? of mr. rogers..
By: rbDrum01. on 27 Jan 10, 18:44:24
it depends on the information given by the tune and/or the chords notation. When a chord is written only by its letter (without any other specification), like "F", you will play ionian. Myxo would be for "F7". To sum up,? if you wonder what scale should be used, you have to pay attention to the tune which is often made of characteristic notes, and to what is specified near the chord (M7, m7, 7, b9, etc). And don't forget, there are many other scales beyond the diatonic system
By: joanthanmak. on 26 Jan 10, 12:52:09
great video... wanna ask if i should use the scales of correspondent chord when i m playing a song? eg.(a song in c major,? when it comes to an f chord, should i use the mixolydian scale?
By: mlavik1. on 15 Nov 09, 01:37:08
Ok, Thanks! :)?
By: rbDrum01. on 14 Nov 09, 12:54:05
thanks a lot .. hum about the chords, I couldn't say exactly. Basic voicings are 1-5-7 or 1-3-5-7, or 1-3-7 .. This is the simplest and you should begin with it. But then you can find more interesting chords just by trying random combinations of the notes from the scale, and writing? down those that sound good ;)
By: rbDrum01. on 14 Nov 09, 12:45:44
hello ! the notes I play are from the scales I said in the description .. example on lydian I play Db-Eb-F-G-Ab-Bb-C-... (upward? and downward are the same)
By: mlavik1. on 11 Nov 09, 13:40:05
Great video! Very good improvisation. Um, how do you make the chords with the LH? Which chords are they? I'm quite new? to jazz.
By: MrJM711. on 04 Nov 09, 05:05:05
Sir can i ask? the notes that you use in the intro?upward notes and the downward notes???
