I'm not sure what it's called, but instead of the C-chord in the beginning you should play a G-chord? with finger 2,3,4 and your 1st finger on the 1st fret 5th string. So Insted of C -> G-chord + 1st fret 5th string

The key is to follow a process and work your way up to songs as difficult and fast as this one, which is what I strive to do for my students on my website. Keep pickin', brother!

When I was a young kid and if asked whether I liked Country music, I'd have given a resounding, No! Yet, I was listening to and enjoying Country music all along and just didn't realize it. Hell, Johnny Cash and Glen? Campell were my favourite shows. Love the comping done in Western Swing; and the singing, of course!

@ZuluSmasher steel? string acoustics have bridge pins that need strings with a steel ball end to lock it in place. It really isn't worth spending hours attempting to improvise with open ended nylons. Just buy some new strings for the guitar you have. Regards

when i started learning guitar nextlevel was my? home base. i loved it! but now i feel that the lessons have become stagnant and repetitive. dont mean to be negative or anything, but the lessons dont "explain" anymore. they "just are". i will always watch what you guys put out but i just feel with a little more time, effort and explaination things will get much better. @F41LWhaleXD Yes, you could do power chords if that's the way you want to do it. Watch him at 1:49 and follow with power chords. It's a different way of doing it, but if you like the way that sounds or find it easier, then by all means go for it. BUT....if you have a tough time with the bar chords, this is a GREAT way to PRACTICE and get better! ? :-)

@Thouchins People use all kinds. I would start somewhere in the middle and then see how that suits you. .10's are pretty average and then .09's and .11's are somewhat less common. I use .10, .13, and .17 for E B and G strings and they feel good for me. David Gilmour uses .10, .12, and .16 and Joe Bonamassa uses the top 6 strings from an .11 gauge 7? string set. I'd start with .10's and see how they feel.

@FlyingBadman There are all sorts of models called Stratocaster. It's possible you're confusing/mixing the Japanese made Strats with the Chinese/Indonesian Squires. But basically there are Chinese/Indonesian? Squires (not actually called Stratocasters btw), there's Mexican, Japanese & USA models (both SSS & HSS). The Japanese versions have some rarity to them and can be pricey, just like the USA ones. There are also all sorts of trim levels, particularly within the USA made models...

i think you lessons are awesome. I do think though, in order for guitarist to go to the next level they need? to understand timing. Not just patterns or feel. But how the notes fit in the measures. i wish more lessons would include this. In a 16th note notation of the timing. If one is to strum in a constant 16th note rhythm they could nail the correct timing to any song. So, placing not patterns but the actual timing of the rhythm makes so much more sense.
