@adminallen I first saw this setup in the 80's a drummer for the band Enuff Znuff. When everyone was playing double bass w/ 10 toms and 30 cymbals. It was very different from anyone else, now it seems to be the norm. I've found I use the kick drum in place of the "missing"? tom when I'm doing fills. As for Briggs this is the only setup he's ever used so if he ever wants to change it he can. Thanks for watching Ray (Briggs' dad)

@adminallen hmm yes, it might be a barker thing. He usually sits very high and pounds into the toms like a mad-man. For speed I'd say this is a no-go, to much? air to cover, odd angle to use the rebound. But again, every person has his own thing that they like, this might be great if you have longer arms or when you sit close to the bassdrum :)

@ThaTyger I have tried many different setups in 30 years and I have a few younger friends who do this kinda setup. i believe this is how Travis Barker sets up but i couldn't move very fast from rack to floor tom with this setup when? i got behind a set like this. But I used to play with way more toms anyway till now days cause it's just too much trouble to lug around. I guess some of it has to do with arm length also and I'm not very big.

@adminallen it all comes down to preference really. Some people have all their? toms "flat" (like in this setup), some people angle the toms. Some people have the "ride in the second rack tom" setup, some people have the "ride above the floor tome" setup. It's all about what feels right to you and to how you play. I'd imagen it'd be quite tricky to move from one tom to next in a fast manner in this setup due to distance needed to travel and because you can't easily use the natural bounce however.

Pretty cool but I have noticed that with younger drummers(under about 30) it is popular to put the rack tom or what used to be a rack tom to the side if the kick and about as low. How on earth can you play that tom like that? and cross over all the way to the floor tom with ease? Not a criticism I was just wondering if it is harder to get used to.

Pretty? good drumming overall. I've never been able to get the hang of double bass, so I stick with being able to open my hi-hat. Even though this is for fun, you might want to play with a click to work on your timings. The bass pedal is slightly loose on the a's.

I'm just playing a couple shuffles that i really like, i'm a bit rusty since i haven't played them in a while but i absolutely love shuffles! This was recorded at a gig after we had sound checked, its only really at gigs that my kit is set up unfortunately. Sorry for the bad lighting at times.

Keep up the good work. It? is nice to see you working on Mike's lessons and not just playing generic stuff. Just slow it down and make it as clean as you can & then gradually bring the speed up. The triplet fill at about 5:04-5:24 sounds really nice and even...great job!!

Nice job.? Take your time getting them up to speed and make sure they sound clean and have a consistent sound. Playing with a metronome will help with that a lot.
