@LuucasSK Years of practice. You can try Heel-toe which is 2 beats on each foot. 4 beats if? you put them together and with months of practice it will sound like 16's and they will sound very nice and solid. Speed and endurance is gained over a year or more's had work.

This video is good, but there's just one thing: The spring tension should be (fairly) tight, and we must? wear shoes in such condition. Why? Because it enables the beater to rebound much quicker, and we can then just push the pedal down again. And to thump the pedals down quicker, ankle motion is a must. May be weird, but that works for up to quick speeds. Even my cheap'o pedals can go fast with this setting.

@airsoftsniperM4 Some electric kits are designed to give similar rebound as acoustic kits, but for those that do not have such features I can imagine that it'd be harder to? play double bass on an electric kit.

@MrCoolTre This has 3 notes per beat, the fourth is the 1st note of the next beat. A 4 stroke has 4 notes per beat, the first note of the next beat is not included. You will notice the difference in sound? and feel if you play them to a metronome or steady beat.

@jinzodude In a quadruplet all four notes are evenly weighted (4 32nd Notes) and two of them would fit into one beat (8 32nds to one beat)...16th note triplets are six to a beat..basically doubling up on a triplet (Think One by Metallica..the Darkness Riff section)..he's taking half of a sixlet (half a beat..the 1-trip-let part) and playing an eighth note at the end (the &) Hope that helped..no clue if it made? sense though haha

Ok.. :) do you have any BEGINNER videos? You've mentioned a lot about 16th notes and beats and all that but how exactly can i tell what a 16th note, whole note,half note, 8th note, etc is on a drum? Oh.. and can you play sharps/flats on a drum? if so.. how?... and can you show? me what the difference is between a snare drum, bass drum, etc is? (sounds, appearance, etc).. and umm.. how do you know when to hit the cymbals? (or whatever they're called)

Do you maintain that grip when your playing normally? or is that grip just used for wrist exercises? I've always held my sticks more like how dave weckl describes in his video (found on youtube) "A Natural Evolution". where the fulcrum is more at the middle finger. but? after practicing the exercises how you said, I noticed signifigant? improvment right away.

it doesn't seem to be a very efficient technique. ? if you let the stick rebound then you will only have one motion between every stroke instead of three (throwing stick down with wrist, stopping stick, pulling stick back up). also, gripping the stick in that way doesn't allow the stick to fully resonate which in turn will not allow the drum to fully resonate.

so you explained how you hold your stick,? you explained the exercise which paradiddles and doubles, you spoke about using the wrists only....... well, where was the talk about the stroke/stick positions??? the up strokes, tap strokes, down strokes and full strokes??? strokes/stick positioning should always be taught to beginners for sticking exercises. but great exercise.

this man says with the bounce you wont have alotta control or volume is false, you control the volume you use the arm in conjuction with the wrist and you will get your volume and power, or the moeller whip even? can give you the volume you want,if you want to single stroke as fast as this guy doubles or still pulll of paradiddles at 200 bpm with ease, then this mans lessons is not the way to go.

this is mans tutorial or lesson on stick control is misinformative,? clearly this man misunderstood, the free stroke or letting the stick bounce technique, you do use your wrist, but u dont squeeze the fulcrum as this man is doing and you control the stick bouncing back, notice this mans hands he hits the head of the pad and PULLS his stick and wrist up, thats a WAISTED motion,also one should incorporate the moeller method for accenting at a FAST SPEED.

@jacobwalters85 I honestly think that if you ("you" as in anyone) practice an hour a night and take a lesson a week you can be playing in a band in 6 months to a year. That said, you can't do a band much good until you fix that "bad timing" issue. Time to invest in a metronome. ? Maybe "Practicing with a Metronome" should be my next vid.

@sher5nong A way to learn the second method, is to se the way Weckl does the single stroke roll fast in the Back to Basis vid. He is in the cradle position, but he is using his two fingers on? the top to pus it down into the drum. Do that after the first note you played with the left hand, so when it bounces back, you will snap it with your top fingers. It will give you to even and solid hits. Hope it helps!! If you dont understand this, buy Jojo Mayer DVD "Secret weapons for the modern drummer"!

How about a lesson on maintaining a good snare stroke when playing with the hi hat hand crossed over the snare? I've been playing for a long time with a weird looking snare stroke (kind of a twist??) when playing with my other hand on the hats. However, when I'm not crossed over, the snare stroke looks and? sounds normal. I find it somewhat technically limits my snare hand when playing crossed over. Don't know if this is common or not but I thought I'd ask.

@slipknotdrummerboy24 Try the whole hand - feet combo.. (RH , LH , RF, LF) When? you get it down smoothly and can do it in different patterns on your toms and snare it sounds really cool but super easy. Make sure everything is even. The same idea as the "John Bonham Triplets", but with two bass drum strokes rather than one. Look up Bonham Triplets for an easy cool fill. /watch?v=pwffE1FfCdo&feature=related (He does a good job explaining)

@SAHBfan Are you kidding? The pattern in the hands is a completely different groove based on a style of music from a completely different continent than the Samba. As a professional musician, if I showed up to a Latin gig and played this as a Samba, I would get laughed at, then I would likely be fired. (Or? at the very least not hired again, which is almost as bad.) This guy, professing to be a teacher, should really know better.
